David Read began a 30-year career as a McDonald’s franchisee with one store. He was a skilled operator and a shrewd investor and became the second largest McDonald’s franchisee in Canada with over 1,000 employees in 14 restaurants. David also founded the Ronald McDonald House in Halifax in 1983.
