Shannon built his Atlantic Corporation from a small-town business to a giant in North American corporation by nurturing many failing enterprises to success. Shannon has been a loyal and longstanding supporter of, and fundraising leader for, Cape Breton University.
Joseph P. Shannon was inducted into the Canadian Business Hall of Fame in 2013.
